With another 195 miles under our belts, we have travelled south through Germany to the Black Forest in the Baden-Wuttemburg region. Whilst the route was mostly on motorways, it was a very scenic drive through heavily forested areas with some elevation changes, as we climbed mountains and descended on the other sides.
We didn’t have a campsite reservation for tonight, so took our chances with Camping Kleinenzhof, near the town of Bad Wildbad. The site is very busy, but we were able to find a suitable plot for the night. As you can see from the photos, we are surrounded by the forest. The weather is significantly warmer here than it was in Luxembourg. With lots of sun on our arrival, it was only fitting that I took a break with a German beer and a sandwich once the tent had been set up!
As we are only here for one night, we are going to eat in the on-site restaurant, so that we don’t have to unload the kitchen/cooking gear.
Tomorrow, I’m hoping to be able to pick up Route 500 that heads south through the Black Forest, as it is supposed to be a very scenic drive.
