Such a Beautiful Country

Every turn we take we are met with yet another picture postcard view! Whether it is mountains, lakes, pretty houses or picturesque villages and towns, beautiful views are everywhere. So are steep ascents/descents and the now commonplace hairpin turns.

Today, we moved further east in Switzerland to the Appenzell region (campsite Kau), where we will be for two nights. Our GPS tried to take us across Lake Luzern on the ferry but we opted to take the long way around the lake, driving through Luzern.

We stopped next to the lake for a picnic lunch and then continued on, through steep, winding roads, to our destination. The views from our tent a quite different to those in Engelberg. No towering mountains all around us – just pine trees, meadows and hills. Mind you, we do have a nearby herd of cows wi their jangling bells!
