Today we drove the short distance to Wasserauen and took the cable-car up to Ebenalp (about 29 Francs each for a return trip). We then took a short hike down to visit the Wildkirchli,  400 year old cave church, and to see the Berggasthaus, a guesthouse that is perched on the side of the cliff. The guesthouse restaurant was doing a roaring trade, with all tables (inside and outside) full with eager diners.

The area was buzzing with hikers and with paragliders jumping off from Ebenalp. After visiting the guesthouse, I took a brisk hike back up to the cable-car, making the uphill trek in 11 minutes. That was quite a work-out but the only one I have had since leaving home! Michele was a little way behind me on the ascent 🙂
