Sibiu

A short 20km drive today, just down the road to the town of Sibiu. Here are a few photos from my wanderings around the historic old town – before the thunderstorm chased me back to the campsite.

Sibiu is an enjoyable town to walk around. I like that they have tourist sign-posts strategically located around the old town. Wherever you wander, you come across one of these signs that includes a map so that you can orient yourself but also includes information about the four attractions that are closest to that location. Very helpful!

I am enjoying my stay at the Salisteanca Campsite and the surrounding area. I initially only planned to be here for two nights and will now be here for at least four nights. Julian, the owner of the campsite, has shown me some interesting forest tracks on the map that will allow me to explore the Cindrel Mountains that are close by. Also, the Cycling Tour of Sibiu takes place tomorrow. It will take a route that includes the Cindrel Mountains and will also pass through Saliste in the afternoon. I’m therefore hoping to do some mountain driving in the morning and then watch the cycle tour pass through the village in the afternoon. I just hope that this rain clears up by tomorrow!
