We took a drive along the coastal road (west) today for a short visit to the city of Nice. The first challenge was finding a parking space. Most of the paid parking is in underground car-parks, but many have a height restriction of 1.9 metres (I need about 2.1 metres for the Defender which has a raised air intake). Once we found a suitable car-park, we took a walk through the Cours Saleya Flower Market towards the old town where we ate lunch.
We took a short walk along the Promenade des Anglais, which is adjacent to the coastline and above the beaches. I found the beaches to be quite interesting (maybe something to do with the topless ladies) but I was dragged away after a couple of minutes 🙂
